From April 25-28, representatives from seven UK independent schools made the trip across the Atlantic to explore and learn from the operations of seven outstanding development offices in four jam-packed days. Graham-Pelton sponsored and supported the trip in partnership with the Institute of Development Professionals in Education. IDPE is the UK’s leading development organization and supports the majority of UK state and independent schools that actively fundraise and are involved with fundraising from alumni and parents.

Host schools are Peck School, Peddie School, Rye Country Day School, Newark Academy, Nightingale-Bamford School, St. Benedict’s Preparatory, and Delbarton School.

Professional fundraising in UK schools is a rapidly increasing field. It has more than doubled in the last decade, with double-digit growth in funds raised through these efforts annually. As a global firm with European offices in London, Dublin, and Edinburgh, Graham-Pelton is committed to elevating the profession globally.

“Each day is structured so that we can share experiences, generate ideas and challenge our professional assumptions regarding what is best practice,” said Glen Fendley, IDPE chair and Head of Development at the Girls’ Day School Trust. “I know that I will return home re-energised, highly inspired and armed with initiatives that I will put into practice.”
