Services: Coaching and Training

Graham-Pelton Consulting conducted a Major Gifts Productivity Assessment and a series of management workshops for UMass Amherst, focused on analyzing and understanding productivity of major gift officers as individuals and as a team. The assessment examined the role/experience characteristics of each gift officer, including tenure, percent time fundraising, management role, manager interaction, and past experience, as well as their portfolio composition, goals, activity, visits, and outcomes. The resulting recommendations and findings from the work informed changes in organizational structure, roles, portfolio, and prospect distribution, as well as new metrics and targets to increase productivity. UMass Amherst introduced a number of new tools and approaches to managing the frontline team and coaching their managers on developing high performance across the team and through the manager workshop sessions, which put the recommendations into action. At the conclusion of the assessment, Graham-Pelton continued service with UMass Amherst, focused on coaching and training sessions for Deans, development leaders, and the entire frontline team.
