Services: Planning Study, Campaign Management, Coaching

Project Self-Sufficiency – an organization whose mission is to assist low-income single parents, teen parents, displaced homemakers, and low-income families to break the cycle of poverty and to achieve economic self-sufficiency for themselves and their children – first retained Graham-Pelton Consulting to conduct a planning study to test the possibility of conducting their first-ever capital campaign, a $3 million effort to construct a new facility. Based on the findings and recommendations of the study, Project Self-Sufficiency proceeded with their “Achieving the Promise of Self-Sufficiency” building campaign, which ultimately raised $10,050,000 on a revised goal of $8,500,000, with Graham-Pelton providing campaign counsel during two years of active campaigning.

Following this highly successful campaign effort, Graham-Pelton continued its partnership with Project Self-Sufficiency by offering coaching services to the organization to assist in designing and launching their annual fundraising efforts, as well as providing advice and guidance on communication messaging, volunteer spokesperson strategies, and major gift strategies. Graham-Pelton continues to provide annual fund and planned giving services to this long-term client through the firm’s Private Client Group.
