Chris Massi

Graham-Pelton is delighted to welcome Christopher Massi, who joins the UK team as a Senior Consultant from June 2016.

Based in Ireland, Chris has over 25 years of development and fundraising experience encompassing schools, universities, healthcare, and the arts. He has led teams in Ireland, the United States, and London, working on some of the largest campaigns in the world, along with some highly ambitious start-up campaigns. He has extensive experience helping organisations turn strategic plans into actionable campaigns.

Chris most recently served as the Director of Development for Croí, the West of Ireland Cardiac Foundation, in Galway. Before that, he worked for the Wexford Festival Opera. While in London, Chris founded the first development office for Merchant Taylors’ School, where he established the major gifts programme, the annual fund, a legacy giving program, and a £7.5 million campaign for financial aid.

Early in his career, Chris ran one of the United States’ largest university annual funds, and he later worked on a $2 billion campaign for Johns Hopkins University, securing seven-figure major gifts. Chris previously raised over $8 million as the Senior Director for Development and Finance at the Riverlife Task Force, a non-profit urban redevelopment organisation in the United States.

Chris says, “I’m delighted to join the Graham-Pelton team. I have been impressed by their growing presence in Ireland. I look forward to working in partnership with Graham-Pelton clients in Ireland, the UK, and Europe.”

Managing Director Shaun Horan says, “Chris brings huge experience from universities, schools, and the charity sector. We are really excited that he will become our first full-time consultant based in Ireland, and by the quality he will bring to all our client engagements across Europe.”

A dual Irish-US national, Chris grew up in Washington, D.C., where he attended St. Albans School. Immediately after leaving Vanderbilt University, Chris worked for then-Congressman Albert Gore, Jr., and later for Maryland Senator Charles Mathias. He speaks fluent Spanish, some French and Dutch, and has studied Classical Greek.
